I am now on Wattpad!

No, I’m not writing stories there, but I work as a book cover designer. So if you are looking for someone to make you book covers, just visit my shop Covered Studios (Thanks to Krysten for helping me name it!) or email me at nadineagoncillo@yahoo.com. I’m doing this for free, by the way.

P.S. Please do vote for Krysten’s two entries for the Watty Awards 2012. It’s “Why She Died” and “Steel”. What do you think about their covers?

Looking for perfect summer reads? Well here are some of it!

I was in the perfect mood to create new covers for Krysten’s short stories. I was able to create four covers and I’m pretty satisfied with them.

Read these heart-fluttering stories here:

A little trivia:

DYSTOPIA noun \(ˌ)dis-ˈtō-pē-ə\
: an imaginary place where people lead dehumanized and often fearful lives

So, are you a fan of dystopian novels? (The Hunger Games is a good example!) then I present to you the first book of The Aurum Trilogy, “Steel”, an incredulous novel created also by Krysten (with the pseudonym M.J. Capulet). If you loved The Hunger Games or any other dystopian books, then I bet you’ll like this.

Summer Reads

Summer’s the only time wherein I can read full time. I can’t read during school days since I’m always focused with school. I’m so happy because I can now read books as long as I want. Last week, we went to Mall of Asia. I looked for Fully Booked but along the way, I saw this store name ‘Book Sale’. My inner nerd pulled me immediately inside the store. Piles of books welcomed me and I felt so happy. You just really need lots of patience when it comes to book sales so that you can find the type of books you want. Luckily, I found three books (Just Listen, Seventeenth Summer, Hope In A Jar) and I bought them for only P350! Huge bargain.

So here are the books I’ve read so far.

  1. Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger
I finally got to finish this since I wasn’t able to when I was still in school.
  2. Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen
Loved this book! Auden’s character is so strong and I definitely loved hwo the story delivers a great message about chances.
  3. Stargazer by Claudia Gray
I wanted to read this ever since last summer because I have already read the first book, Evernight. Gladly, National Book Store is on book sale and I bought this for only P99! I so love Balthazar in this book.
  4. Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
This is the latest book that I have finished. It pretty much tackled teen issues but of course, the love story is still there. I guess honesty and having a strong guts were the main lessons here.
  5. Seventeenth Summer by Maureen Daly
It’s the book that I am currently reading. I didn’t know that this is actually written way back during the 1940s! No wonder the words being used is kinda formal. But so far, so good.
  6. Hope In A Jar by Beth Harbison
I haven’t read this yet but I’m sure this is a good book since the story is about friendship of two girls who became indifferent about each other when they got into high school.

Whew. Books never fail to make me feel good! Every time I buy a new one, it feels like I bought new clothes. Haha. It’s so calming and relaxing when you read. Plus, you learn new words! I’m hoping to finish Seventeenth Summer and Hope In A Jar by next week so I can buy new books for our Baguio trip. I am definitely enjoying summer.

Book list: January-February

So I decided to create a book list every month to keep track the books I’ll be reading this year! To keep in track of the books I’ll be reading this year, I created this page to list down very book I read. I’m hoping to read at least 30 books (or more!)! Let’s start off this January and February.
  • The Devil Wears Prada
  • Everyone Worth Knowing
  • Chasing Harry Winston
  • A Walk To Remember
